US Strikes Second Suspected Smuggling Boat in Pacific Ocean
Vows "strikes will continue, day after day"

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced the second attack of a suspected drug-smuggling boat in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, eight hours after he announced another attack - a first in that body of water.
The latest attack, Hegseth said on x.com, killed “three male narco-terrorists aboard the vessel.” To bolster the US claim that the small boat was involved in drug smuggling, the Department of Defense also released video of packages floating in the water after the vessel sank.

“These strikes will continue, day after day. These are not simply drug runners—these are narco-terrorists bringing death and destruction to our cities. These DTOs are the “Al Qaeda” of our hemisphere and will not escape justice. We will find them and kill them, until the threat to the American people is extinguished.” -US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth
The expansion of the attacks, from the Caribbean Sea to the Eastern Pacific Ocean - in international waters off Colombia - has inflamed relations between the US and Colombia.
Colombian President Gustavo Petro has complained that an earlier attack against a boat in the Caribbean “murdered” one of his citizens, who he says was not a smuggler, but a fisherman.
President Trump called the Colombian President “an illegal drug leader” and cut off all US aid to his country, as well as canceled his US Visa, in response.
For his part, President Petro took to social media to announce he would take legal action against the Trump Administration:
“From the slanders that have been cast against me in the territory of the United States by high-ranking officials, I will defend myself judicially with American lawyers in the American justice system.” -Colombian President Gustavo Petro, via x.com

Love that quote from the Colombian president! He sounds like Fidel Castro, or the South Africans who decided that Israel is the real villain in the middle east, while presiding over a nation that is rapidly becoming Haiti. I'm sure he is beloved by his people.
