US Expands Missile Strikes on Drug Boats to Pacific Ocean
Likely to worsen tension with Colombia

The Trump Administration expanded its attacks against suspected drug-smuggling vessels from the Caribbean Sea to the Pacific Ocean - a move that is likely to further strain ties with Colombia, whose President says an attack in September killed one of its citizens who was a fisherman instead of a smuggler.
Although Secretary of War Pete Hegseth issued a statement on x.com that the Pacific strike “was conducted in international waters,” multiple news outlets - including CBS News say the location of the attack was also “off Colombia.”

Secretary Hegseth says “two narco-terrorists” were killed in the strike. He did not explain why the US employed deadly force instead of boarding the vessel and arresting the smugglers, as the US Coast Guard has done more than thirty times in the Eastern Pacific since August (resulting in the apprehension of 86 cartel smugglers and the seizure of more than 100,000 pounds of cocaine).

However, Hegseth’s statement was strongly worded, hinting at more deadly strikes to come:
“Narco-terrorists intending to bring poison to our shores, will find no safe harbor anywhere in our hemisphere. Just as Al Qaeda waged war on our homeland, these cartels are waging war on our border and our people. There will be no refuge or forgiveness—only justice.” -US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth
The latest deadly strike - in international waters off Colombia - will likely further fuel a red-hot diplomatic situation between the US and that country. In reaction to the Colombian President’s complaints on October 19, 2025, President Trump called the Colombian President “an illegal drug leader” and cut off all US aid to that country:
Do you support the expansion of the US use of deadly force against suspected smuggling boats from the Caribbean Sea to the Pacific Ocean?

I stumbled upon this video from Glenn Beck, of all people, agreeing with my thesis that the main goal is booting the communists from the oil fields. He calls it a new Monroe Doctrine. Secondary goal is drug trafficking; third goal is regime change so a lot of Venezuelan refugees in America will voluntarily repatriate [as Maria Machado is confident they will do]. This agenda also explains the support for Milei in Argentina, because you know the commies are backing the Peronistas.

Here's one of the comments that caught my eye:
"Of course, is this the case. I´m from Brasil, and we understand that, me and many people here are wishing success on this intent, because we understand that this will keep us free from evil regimes, and as secondary benefit this is going to be a big help to deal with the cartels. Unfortunately, many Brazilians do not understand this. Anyway, good luck, Mr. Trump."
If more drug filth ended up as fish food it'd be a good thing
