One thing's for sure, they've got Texas Governor Greg Abbott's attention. He's been after the developers for some time.

Jack, Ken Paxton is the greatest AG ever IMHO. I am elated to see Governor Abbott protecting his great state of TX. Thanks 🇺🇸.

Abbott's moves strike me as very questionable from a Constitutional standpoint. If the development really excludes non-Muslims that's one thing, but a neighborhood that appeals to Moslems because it has a good religious school and mosques and hallal food should be protected by the right to freedom of religion. I am Jewish and orthodox and I know the Lakewood NJ area very well and it is a great place to live if you keep kosher and live a 'frum' lifestyle. Synagogues abound, ditto kosher grocery stores and moderately priced wedding halls. Crime is low, most people dress modestly, and yes, there are Jewish courts that adjudicate everything from business disputes to divorce settlements. There is also a fairly large Latino population. Everyone gets along fairly well and the non-Jewish business owners do their best to accommodate the Jewish community (for example, putting Cosmopolitan magazines behind screens!) As Lakewood has grown and spread out, friction happens and some towns have tried to limit Jews buying property so it ain't perfect but the area is still struggling to comply with the Bill of Rights.

May, Islam and Sharia law are attempting to infiltrate our Country, nothing remotely related to your NJ homeland. Read up mam bc you don't have a clue about Jihadees, Sharia law and our America.

Good Heavens! Of course I understand the Islamist threat. I have as many friends in Israel as in Lakewood. And what my friends in Brooklyn have had to deal with with Nation of Islam types is unspeakable. I just think Abbott will have to try a different set of tactics to get past the inevitable and pretty much inevitably successful Constitutional challenge.

Here is Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, whose assignment is the Third District Court of Appeals that includes Texas, speaking to the Federalist Society. He starts speaking about Freedom of Religion round about the 5 minute mark and up until about 20 minutes in. https://fedsoc.org/conferences/2020-national-lawyers-convention?#agenda-item-address-8 I cannot imagine Justice Alito allowing Governor Abbot's order to stand if challenged. It is particularly telling that late in the section on Freedom of Religion he stresses the need to limit executive branch orders like the one we discuss here.
