What is US Border News?

US Border News follows hundreds of official sources & high-quality unofficial open-source intel sources daily on both sides of the US-Mexico border to identify news & trends before the mainstream media reports them. Accuracy is a hallmark of our reporting.

Although the bulk of our reporting focuses on border law enforcement, we also regularly write about border culture & history, as well as deep dives into border security & immigration issues.

Jack Beavers - US Border News

US Border News is edited by Jack Beavers, a veteran Emmy-awarded US journalist who was raised near the Texas border with Mexico. He has lived the issues he now reports on (well before Richard Nixon declared a “War on Drugs” in 1968).

Jack has spent time in the field with Border Patrol Agents, has flown with Department of Homeland Security air crews over Texas, sailed with US Coast Guard Crews patrolling the Gulf of Mexico, spent time aboard US Customs & Border Protection watercraft on the Rio Grande, witnessed countless Drug Enforcement Administration operations, and logged many hours with Texas law enforcement officers patrolling the Borderlands.

He has served in several high-profile news management positions, including Managing Editor of network TV Newsrooms in Dallas, Houston, and Sacramento. He has also held editorial positions in the newsrooms of nationally distributed US TV news programs in Chicago, Washington, DC, and Sacramento for Paramount & USA Today.

Through it all, Jack has applied his perspective as a native South Texan to today’s Border Security issues, providing decades of insight into the headlines currently generated along the US-Mexico border.

He has lived through many cultural and demographic shifts that have shaped today’s border residents and is a student of border history, which gives him an understanding of how we got to where we are today.

The border between the US & Mexico is a fascinating and complicated melting pot of cultures, interests, and an ever-changing political battleground. Join us at US Border News as we navigate it together.

A word about our logo:

The US Border News logo was inspired by (but is not a copy of) the logo of the US Border Patrol, about which we frequently report. However, no connection to or endorsement by the agency is claimed or implied.

For those who want to compare the two logos, see the graphics below.

We’ve purposely chosen a different color, font, font placement, border size, and map outline to differentiate our logo from the official agency logo (on the left).
