The crew of the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Tampa unloaded 29,600 pounds of cocaine and 3,355 pounds of marijuana, worth an estimated $226.7 million, this week in Port Everglades, Florida - the result of a successful patrol of the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
The seized cartel contraband was the result of six interdictions in international waters as part of “Operation Pacific Viper,” preventing smugglers’ drugs from reaching the United States.

“The Coast Guard continues to leverage its authorities and partnerships across the Western Hemisphere to degrade Transnational Criminal Organizations’ ability to harm American communities. Success stories like these highlight our commitment to continuing to control, secure, and defend the nation’s maritime borders and approaches.” - US Coast Guard Vice Admiral Jo-Ann Burdian

The Coast Guard Cutter Tampa is a 270-foot medium-endurance cutter homeported in Portsmouth, Virginia.

How much damage do you think “Operation Pacific Viper” has inflicted on cartel cocaine smuggling operations?
