Jack, I was surprised to the cartels are using USA citizens to traffic drugs across the border. One of the big arrests was a convicted felon US citizen. The worst thing about it is that those fentanyl drugs cause so many deaths. I'm so proud of the CBP who apprehend these people. Thank you, Jack for your timely information.
US citizens are preferred because they often receive less scrutiny than Mexican citizens by US authorities when they cross back into the US. Thank you for your comments & thank you for reading US Border News!
Regardless who’s trying to get it across the border, just as long as it’s being stoped that’s what really matters. Statistics are good to know, but I really just want to know it got stopped.
As someone who grew up along the South Texas Border, who is familiar with the very long history of banditry, cattle rustling, bootlegging, and smuggling along the Rio Grande, I can predict that it never will be "stopped" - but it can be "controlled."

Mules instead of smugglers would make for a more meaningful title.
If you are comparing them to those directing the smuggling operations, then I see your point. In any case, thanks for reading & sharing your opinion!
Why would anyone in the US make the decision to run drugs for the Cartels? Insane, thanks Jack.
To borrow a line from Glenn Frey's "Smuggler's Blues":
"It's the lure of easy money, it's got a very strong appeal."
I agree it is insane. Thanks for reading and sharing your views!

At least it got a snag for the day. I think that’s where my thoughts were headed.
Yes, yes…that’s what I mean controlled. Silly me to say stopped.
No need to apologize. It's a pervasive situation that won't ever completely "go away" because there's too much money to be made. -Abrazos!
