US Border: Crackdown on Deadly Chinese "Glock Switches"
The illegal devices convert standard semi-automatic handguns into fully automatic.

Federal, State & Local law enforcement officers are cracking down on the import, sale, and use of (often Chinese-made) "Glock Switches" that are illegal to use or possess and convert standard semi-automatic handguns into fully automatic. It allows the user to pull and hold the trigger to fire all the weapon's ammunition in a single, deadly burst of bullets.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Chicago seized 473 shipments containing 1,507 weapon-modifying devices from January 1 to December 31, 2024.

From January to June CBP stopped 155 shipments carrying 354 “Glock switches". From July to September, officers seized another 241 shipments containing a whopping 948 switches. Most of these seizures were from China and were heading to various locations throughout the U.S. The importation of these items is restricted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Many were undeclared, mis-manifested, or lacked any ATF importation approvals.
When these illegal devices reach the street their impacts are often deadly.

In 2021, Houston Senior Police Officer Bill Jeffrey died while attempting to serve a warrant for a wanted man who ambushed him armed with a Glock handgun outfitted with a "Glock Switch."
The federal crackdown on "Glock Switches" extends from the border to the streets. This month eight people accused of being involved in the sale of Glock Switches via social media were arrested in a joint takedown by Homeland Security Investigators, ATF Dallas Agents, and local police officers in Irving, Texas.

The arrests were the result of "Operation Reel Switch" begun by the Irving Police Department in September 2024. Over four months, the multi-agency operation recovered four guns and 35 "Glock Switches" imported from China and advertised for sale through social media. Search warrants led to the seizure of five more of the illegal devices, four guns, narcotics, and cash.
Six of those arrested face federal charges, while the other two face state charges.
“In the hands of a criminal, these illegal devices exponentially increase a firearm’s lethality. We will not allow them to overtake our streets.” -U.S. Attorney Leigha Simonton
The arrests are also part of a state-wide federal, state, and local effort called "Operation Texas Kill Switch" to get the illegal conversion devices off of Texas streets.
Should more be done at the borders to keep Chinese Glock Switches" from reaching American streets?

Perhaps you ought to be writing about the mindless liberal judge P’sOS that turn the likes of the trash you’re showing pictures of, back out on the street.
So, how are the ones in Irving and Chicago traced to the border (Mexico, Canada, west coast, east coast)?
