Texas Senator John Cornyn, who has asked the US Justice Department (DOJ) to investigate East Plano Islamic Center’s (EPIC) planned Muslim community, "EPIC City", near Dallas, says the DOJ has agreed to his request. He laid out his concerns when he first asked for the federal investigation:
"A master-planned ‘community of thousands of Muslims’ could violate the constitutional rights of Jewish and Christian Texans, by preventing them from living in this new community and discriminating against them within the community. I further encourage the Department to investigate whether Christians, Jews, and other non-Muslim minorities would receive equal protection under the law in this new community." US Senator John Cornyn
"EPIC City" is being planned as a 400+ acre development centered around a mosque, 1,000 homes, and a K-12 private Islamic school near Josephine, Texas (in Collin & Hunt Counties).

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has called the proposed community a "Sharia City."
"To be clear, Sharia law is not allowed in Texas. Nor are Sharia cities. Nor are “no go zones“ which this project seems to imply. Bottom line. The project as proposed ... is not allowed in Texas." -Texas Governor Greg Abbott
The Governor's concerns were echoed by Senator Cornyn. He has asked the DOJ "to explore whether the proponents of the proposed development are abiding by existing federal and state prohibitions on the enforcement of sharia law.”

On Friday, Senator Cornyn thanked US Attorney General Pam Bondi for her response to his request:
“I am grateful to Attorney General Bondi and the Department of Justice for hearing my concerns and opening an investigation into the proposed EPIC City development in North Texas,” Religious discrimination and Sharia Law have no place in the Lone Star State. Any violations of federal law must be swiftly prosecuted, and I know under the Trump administration, they will be.” - US Senator John Cornyn
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who will challenge Cornyn in an upcoming Texas GOP primary, opened a state investigation into EPIC City in March:
“Under my watch, there will be zero tolerance for any person or entity that breaks Texas law. My office has an open and ongoing investigation into EPIC City, which has raised a number of concerns, and this (Civil Investigative Demand) will help ensure that any potential violation of state law is uncovered.” -Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton

Imran Chaudhary, executive officer and director of Community Capital Partners (which is developing EPIC City), told The Dallas Morning News they would cooperate with Paxton's investigation:
"We understand that there has been a lot of rumor-milling and misinformation circulated by many who are uninformed. We look forward to working with the Attorney General to ensure that we are in legal compliance every step of the way and educating the broader community about our project,“ Imran Chaudhary (Community Capital Partners)
According to the governor, a host of other state agencies have also launched separate investigations:
Texas State Securities Board is investigating EPIC and affiliated entities for "potential financial harm to Texans"
Texas Funeral Service Commission sent a cease-and-desist letter ordering EPIC to "immediately stop all illegal funeral service operations"
Texas Workforce Commission is investigating EPIC and affiliated entities for "potential discrimination in violation of the Texas Fair Housing Act"
Senator Cornyn has also expressed concerns over whether "non-Muslim minorities would receive equal protection under the law in this new community:"
"(Epic City) is designed as an exclusive religious settlement where Islamic principles govern not only daily life and education, but commerce. A master-planned ‘community of thousands of Muslims’ could violate the constitutional rights of Jewish and Christian Texans, by preventing them from living in this new community and discriminating against them. - US Senator John Cornyn

One simply has to look over at Europe and witness how Muslims boldly assert that they will take over The nations they colonize. UK, France, Romania, and other European nations are completely losing their identity and being overwhelmed by Islamists who are suddenly offended by everything western, demanding Sharia Law! This can NEVER be permitted. It must be boldly and publicly denounced, dealt with and rooted out of Texas!
Yes, I am concerned about this proposed Islamic city being in Texas... or anywhere in the U. S. A., for that matter. There is no place for Sharia Law under our Republic's Constitution. No where in the U.S.A. It is incompatible with the Constitution of the Republic of the United States of America. It must not be allowed to continue to be built.
