This task force was initially directed by the County Sheriff, who established it in the 1980s, and later transitioned to the City of Kingsville Police Force and other local agencies before coming under the current County Attorney's direction. At the same time, critics tried (and very nearly succeeded) in shutting it down.
At issue were all the sizeable seized Cartel funds, which different political interests tried to claim as their own, and (when they could not win them) went to war against this small, but effective task force.
It's a miracle they've managed to survive, but they've emerged as a recognized state leader in finding - and seizing - sizeable amounts of cartel cash passing through their county on the way to the cartels south of the border.
Now they are often requested to help other local & state agencies - far from their jurisdiction - to target cartel couriers moving cash and drugs through other areas of Texas - with similar positive results.
They also have a close and productive relationship with the US Border Patrol Station responsible for the area they patrol.
It's a story that is not often told, and I am happy to report on their successes.
Ironically these cash seizures largely fund the Task Force that is going after the cartels. The criminals, in essence, are paying for the very officers that are costing them all this money. Thanks for reading US Border News & taking time to comment!
Love it! I was going to ask where this seized money goes when I saw your comment above about funds for the task force. It’s a win-win!
Thank you for your updates!
I don’t always have time to read them but I sure appreciate you!!
Thanks!

Amazing!
Of course other “political interests” would attempt to claim this money!
I’m so grateful this task force has this funding to keep them “in business!”
What a blessing they are!
I hope it burns
Exactly 👍🏻
Well, it's burning through cartel profits, anyway!
They feel some pain and continue Operations as usual.
Its baked in to the cost of business.
