Since 2021 (when the Border Patrol first installed ten of those towers in its Big Bend Sector), that network has since grown to more than 50 there, but (with more than 515 miles of the Rio Grande to cover) those clearly aren't enough. The cartels keep funneling migrants to areas that aren't covered by the cameras, leading agencies like the Terrell County Sheriff's Office (along with a small Border Patrol station staff there) to scramble to keep up.

Hmmm, what about silent glider drones with LiDAR that can autonomously look for humans moving at night? Also helpful if they could triangulate on GPS transceiver signals or mobile phone pings. Surely that already exists?

Sheriff Cleveland has testified before Congress numerous times. During one of his most recent appearances, he boiled down that what is needed in his area of Texas is more technology (like Anduril Towers) and more boots on the ground to respond to what they spot.

One is useless without the other.

You can read his testimony @ https://tinyurl.com/3tsmw5pd . I am considering amplifying what he said in an upcoming article.

Again, thanks for reading US Border News & taking the time to share your opinion!
