THE WEEK’S US BORDER NEWS IN BRIEF:

Some Democratic-leaning states and cities are weighing proposals to ban federal immigration agents from wearing masks and require them to display IDs when making arrests. California, New York, and Massachusetts are discussing bills that would ban federal agents from wearing masks. Chicago, Albuquerque, and several cities in Southern California are considering proposals to require federal agents to wear identification. The US Justice Department opposes the measures.
People impersonating U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents approached a business in Lewisburg, PA, seeking private information about employees. The Buffalo Valley Regional Police Department says the Department of Homeland Security and ICE confirmed they had no authorized enforcement action scheduled in the area, and asked businesses to contact them to verify the identity of any stranger without ID claiming to be a law enforcement officer.
The Associated Press reports that seventeen immigration court judges have been fired in recent days, as the Trump administration pushes forward with its mass deportations of immigrants in the country. Their union says that judges have been dismissed in California, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. The Justice Department did not respond to media inquiries about why the judges had been fired.
Environmentalists say the construction of a border wall in Southeastern Arizona could block one of the last remaining jaguar corridors between the U.S. and Mexico. The Center for Biological Diversity says the San Rafael Valley is also home to 17 threatened and endangered species.

Jack, thank you for great information you publish for us. Remember AP news service is very left leaning. I am so grateful to our Border Patrol agents and ICE agents who deport ILLEGAL immigrants. Any questions about these agents wearing masks, I say fuck off. You and most people know that the reason for masks is so that they cannot be identified and their families threatened.
That's cute. I'm pretty sure state and local officials have zero jurisdiction over federal agencies. I think this falls into the category of more liberal tears.
