Mountains of Meth Seized in Texas
Cartels lost thousands of pounds of drugs in recent weeks
As impressive as that literal "Mountain of Meth" is pictured above - it pales in comparison to another huge meth bust made in Texas in recent weeks.
The largest of those busts happened on the Roma International Bridge on March 5, 2025. A tractor-trailer hauling a shipment of bottled mineral water caught the eyes of US Customs & Border Protection (CBP) Agents as it crossed into Texas from Ciudad Miguel Alemán, Mexico.
It's a good thing, too - because all that "mineral water" turned out to be one big illegal load of liquid meth!

The seizure totaled 1,632 bottles containing 2,269 pounds of liquid methamphetamine with a street value of $20,279,137. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Special Agents are following up on this case.
Elsewhere, the Pharr Police Department's suspicions were raised by activity around a warehouse there, so they asked Agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to look into it.
When agents arrived last week, they found it filled with pallets labeled "berries" that contained bags of crystal meth instead.

The DEA seized 1,500 pounds of meth worth almost five million dollars. The agency told KRGV-TV that the shipment came from the Mexican state of Michoacán and was bound for Atlanta, Georgia.
Now to the story about that "mountain of meth" pictured at the top of this article:

On Thursday, February 6, 2025, several agencies moved in on a major meth operation in Houston - resulting from an investigation initiated by the Westside Narcotics Task Force. That led to the seizure of 625 kilograms of crystal meth (1,377 pounds) - at the expense of a Mexican Cartel smuggling operation.
Is enough being done to get cartel drugs off the streets?
