The US is continuing to tighten security along the southwestern border with Mexico, according to the latest report issued by Republican Members of the House Committee on Homeland Security.
In August 2025, U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) reported 9,740 “encounters” with illegal aliens along the Southwest Border, a 91% decrease from the 107,473 encounters in August 2024. In August 2023, those numbers were more than double that at a whopping 232,963 encounters with illegal aliens along the border with Mexico.
US Border Patrol (USBP) apprehensions between ports of entry at the Southwest border last month (6,321) decreased 89% compared to August 2024 (58,009). In August, Border Patrol averaged just 204 apprehensions of illegal aliens per day—96% lower than the daily average during the Biden administration.
Nationwide, CBP border encounters in August 2025 (26,191) decreased by over 83% compared to August 2024 (158,893)
The Trump administration reports the removal of over 332,000 illegal aliens from the U.S., with removal numbers reaching 1,500 per day in August 2025.
In August, for the fourth month in a row, no inadmissible aliens were released into American communities, compared to the 10,186 inadmissible aliens that were released under President Biden last August.
Meanwhile, US authorities continue to hammer home messages in Spanish & English on social media that “the border is closed.“

Surely this strategy is winning hearts and minds, because they're going all in with both feet. But the Dems shouldn't abandon hope just yet; all is not lost. If you're a Dem in a blue stronghold, and if you have a house pet that might qualify as an adult [3 years of age for dogs or cats], be sure to register your pet for mail-in voting before the midterm primaries!
