Mexican Cartels aren’t giving up on their lucrative human smuggling runs to California by sea. The US Coast Guard this week reports apprehending 37 aliens off the coast of Southern California during the month of October.

On Oct. 9, a Coast Guard Maritime Safety and Security Team (MSST) boat crew interdicted 13 suspected aliens aboard a 24-foot vessel approximately 7 miles off San Diego. Imperial Beach Border Patrol agents took the individuals into custody at Ballast Point.

Later that same day, Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach watchstanders received notification that the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Narwhal (WPB 87335) interdicted 23 suspected aliens aboard a 25-foot cuddy-cabin vessel near Santa Cruz Island while on patrol.
