Unconstitutional "malarky" from the past coming back to bite us. The ownership of large tracts of land by the Federal government as a condition of statehood should have been struck down by the Supreme Court if they were serious about being the guardians of the Constitution - which power they simply stole from the States and people in the first place, but that's whole 'nother rabbit hole.
That's mostly good news, except for some not-so-beautiful land mines, as are found in every big, beautiful bill [like the comically-named Inflation Reduction Act]...
Unfortunately most of the comments on this 'stack are derogatory to conservatives, but these guys do have a point about the wrong kind of privatization. Our side is well aware of the wrong kind of regulation, such as EPA and CEQA overreach. But we should be wary of defunding the Park Service, just as the other side should have known better than trying to defund the police.
