911 Calls Blocked by Illegals with Signal Jammers, DHS Warns
The devices are made in China
The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued a warning about the rise in Chinese-manufactured signal jammers in the United States, which the agency says pose a threat to public safety and civilian aviation. DHS reports that US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers have seen an 830% increase in seizures of these illegal devices while inspecting imports arriving at US borders since 2021.
The agency reports that:
South American illegal aliens have jammed calls to local police during home invasions and bank robberies in Florida, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia.
In February 2025, law enforcement in Texas recovered a signal jammer while arresting an illegal alien from Chile.
In December 2024, a criminal used a jammer as law enforcement responded to a burglary.
"As Chinese manufacturers attempt to smuggle signal jammers (into the US), we will continue to seize these tools of terrorism," a DHS spokesman said.
The DHS warning states that, "U.S. federal law already prohibits the private import, operation, marketing, or sale of any signal jamming equipment that interferes with law enforcement communications, GPS, or radar" (although we easily found them for sale on the internet, by companies claiming to be located in the US).
Ironically, the DHS notes that these illegal Chinese-made signal jammers are banned from being used in Beijing.
Should US authorities target the sellers of "signal jammers" openly advertising them on the internet?

So (for me) the damning fact is these devices are illegal in Beijing, but are being manufactured and illegally imported in large numbers to the USA. This would not have happened without the involvement of the Chinese CCP or its approval.
